    Suicune (1izzi)

    Introduction

Unfortunately Suicune isn't the power house it used to be. A team running a Suicune in the OU meta game is going to need a lot of support. Even though it was hard I kept pushing to make the team as fun and competitive as I could. This team was made for 1izzi.

    Heatran @ Passho Berry
    Trait: Flash Fire
    EVs: 128 HP / 216 SAtk / 164 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Fire Blast
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Stealth Rock
    - Will-O-Wisp
Heatran will have to be your lead. I added Will-O-Wisp on it so you can cripple lead Tyranitar and get your rocks up with more health up. Rain isn't going to be your favorite fight so I added Passho Berry to reduce Politoeds Hydro Pumps down so you can 2HKO with Hidden Power Grass. But obviously you will need to switch if Politoed is moving faster than you. A bulkier spread can work out too.

    Gengar @ Life Orb
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Shadow Ball
    - Focus Blast
    - Substitute
    - Pain Split
Apparently Gengar along with Skarm and Tyranitar are on all my teams lately. Not sure why but they aren't staples, and I wasn't being lazy making this team lol. Anyway he is a spin blocker and contributes a lot to the team offensively and defensively.

    Jirachi @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Flash Cannon
    - Thunderbolt
    - Wish
    - Calm Mind
I thought this set would pair up nicely with Suicune since most of it's counters are set up fodder for Jirachi. Flash Cannon hits Reuniclus, Latias, Celebi and Tyranitar. Thunderbolt rounds off the coverage and this guy is pretty hard to take down once he gets going. Wish support helps Suicune and your other teammates.

    Suicune @ Leftovers
    Trait: Pressure
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Surf/Hydro Pump
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Ice Beam
    - Calm Mind
Offensive Suicune is by far the best set in my oppinion. Sets up easy and is hard to take down after a Calm Mind. Since Gyarados doesn't really exist in this game anymore we put in Hidden Power Grass. It hits Rotom-W and Gastrodon as well. Hydro Pump over Surf is up to you.

    Skarmory @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sturdy
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Brave Bird
    - Spikes
    - Whirlwind
    - Roost
As always, you need to protect yourself against big sweepers in the sand. Setting up harzards helps the team out a lot to get random KOs

    Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Sand Stream
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Stone Edge
    - Crunch
    - Superpower
    - Pursuit
A CM Latias with Roar can still wall Jirachi pretty decently so Tyranitar is the answer to that. Also Scarf Tyranitar makes up for a Thundurus check/counter if you don't go switching into a Focus Blast. On top of that he can change the weather from rain.

    Problems with the team:
Rain teams aren't going to be your favorite match up. But if played right you can deal with them. Skarmory is the only one who can deal with Excadrill in the sand.

    Re: Suicune (1izzi)

Can I ask why run a Sandstorm team when Suicune is the main sweeper? The SS cancels out the Leftovers and Suicune will be KOed eventually without any wish support.

    1. Make it a rain team. If you want Suicune to be a sweeper then give it the boosts from rain to be trouble.

    2. Ferrothorn is a great partner to Suicune. It covers its two weaknesses and can be a super wall in rain.

    3. Gyarados is still being very much used. I've personally been using it for my Drizzle Team as a Bulky specially defensive Sub + Dragon Dance with Moxie. It gains momentum and doesn't stop plowing through the opponent.

    4. The EVs on Suicune, if you're going to run a CM set, especially in SS, it's wise to max out HP and Speed, not special attack. After 1 CM, it'll be at nearly the same as having the 64 Sp Attack EVs. Max out speed and HP so you can get the CM up and running.

    5. As the team stands now, it is prone to electric attacks, very much between Suicune and Skarmory. If you can't get spikes up and Whirlwind, then the dmg won't add up from residual dmg leaving Suicune to sweep. I would suggest throwing a ground poke like Poison Heal Gliscor, Landorus or Excadrill on the team to allow clear the room of electric pokes.

I disagree with this. The only electric types being used and are effective right now are Rotom-W and Thunderus. Gliscor, Landorus and Excadrill are not great counters to these. He is better off using a grass or dragon in that case. Even Gastrodon...

With Drizzle being back in this gen, Electric pokes are making a comeback. I've seen Zapdos, Thundurus, Ampharos, Raikou, Rotoms, and Jolteons.

Most Thundurus will have Nasty Plot + BoltBeam and Taunt/Thunderwave. The whole point of this team was for Suicune. If you have a CM Suicune with Leftovers in SS, it's a sitting duck waiting to be KOed. You'll need a ground type and possibly a steel/Flying type to cover it's grass weakness. Your Tyranitar and Suicune are weak to Grass and if they are paralyzed by PranksterWave, then your whole team is done, espcially since you don't have a Healer to cure statuses.

Most teams are carrying at least one Electric Type or a poke that can abuse Rain because Drizzle is very popular strategy. And another popular prankster user, Whimsicott is a grass which is faster and can also use Stun Spore and paralyze your entire team. So between Whimsicott and Thundurus, both very popular, most of your team is shut down between these two ( Tyranitar, Skarmory and Suicune).

Suicune cares very little about the sand. Jirachi provides Wish support if I really need it so I don't see the problem. If your team can be shut down by a Whimsicott there is a huge problem there. I don't see how Whimsicott is a threat seeing as how everything on my team can beat it. Thundurus may be a threat but it's not going to get far. It takes out one poke at the most and gets KO'd.

And enough about type synergy problems. Type synergy means nothing if your team cannot function against actual threats. Now tell me a specific pokemon that will outright sweep this team.

On heatran you should switch fireblast for magma storm and will-o-wisp for toxic, that way you can trap in annoying pokemon like chansey and blissey. Will-o-wisp is good for handling physical attacking pokemon, but will-o-wisp isnt reliable since it always misses and most physical attackers carry earthquake to just eat heatran up anyways.

@Poe, it was a great Gyarados I'll give total credit to you for that lol. I swept a whole team after 2 DD. After that Moxie took over and I just owned the guy lol.

you seem to have a problem with conckeldurr and rotom-w to fix this I recommend using specs Latios over Gengar. Latios outspeeds and can OHKO them both with dracco meteor.
