So, recently I've found myself using pokes that aren't as fun as the pokes I initially used in the beginning of Gen 5. So, I've decided to make a team around my favorite pokes that is balanced and pretty good. Sorry for the lack of pictures.
Lead:
Mienshao@Life Orb
Jolly Nature
Regenerator
4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Speed
-Fake Out
-U-Turn
-Hi Jump Kick
-Stone Edge
One of my original favorites of Gen 5. He's tough, fast and has Regenerator Ability. I see mostly weather leads now, between tyranitar, ninetales, or politoed. So, Fake Out will stop most. U-Turn allows me to Scout. Hi Jump Kick is my STAB and Stone Edge is for flying types like Tornadus and ghosts like Chandelure that would otherwise resist/be immune to my other moves. Regenerator + LO and U-Turn are a great combo that allow me to regain HP lost to LO.
Scrafty@Leftovers
Shed Skin
Careful Nature
252 HP/ 4 Def/ 252 Sp Def
-Rest
-Bulk Up
-Drain Punch
-Crunch
This is my other favorite that rose to the top very fast. He's bulky in general and has immunity to psychic and resists dark and ghost. Jellicent and Chandelure will think twice before switching in Mienshao due to Scrafty with STAB Crunch. Even if he gets burned, poisoned, etc, Shed Skin/Rest will allow him to shrug off statuses. Drain Punch/Crunch gives pretty great coverage and after 2/3 Bulk Ups, Scrafty becomes pretty hard to take down.
Jellicent@Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold Nature
252 HP/ 210 Def/ 44 Speed
-Will-o-Wisp
-Recover
-Scald
-Taunt
Jellicent is there to WoW physical attackers making Scrafty's job of Bulk Up easier with it's natural bulk. Recover for HP recovery. I know people say that Scald/WoW is redundant but the chance to burn scare physical fire types. Taunt is to stop any boosters/phazers/entry hazard droppers. Covers Scrafty's fighting weakness and makes most psychic types think twice before switching in on Mienshao. 44 Speed EVs were given to outspeed Scizor/Blissey so either Taunt them or WoW them.
Electivire@Choice Scarf
Adamant Nature
Motor Drive
4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Speed
-Wild Charge
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Earthquake
I know about Electivire and how he is UU. But, I recently got him imported to B/W from my HG game. He was a favorite back then and now he is my revenge kiiller. He has a BoltBeam going on plus brick break/earthquake. He covers Jellicent's weakness to electricity and Mienshao/Scrafty's weakness to flying attacks. Can revenge kill Tornadus who is faster and can cause problems. I actually ran into a Choice Specs Tornadus in Rain. That Hurricane became deadly and this is the reason why I added him on. Also, Brick Break was chosen to handle dual screeners/other Scrafty that may even be DD setups.
Ferrothorn@Leftovers
Iron Barbs
Sassy Nature
252 HP/ 4 Def/ 252 Sp Def
-Thunder Wave
-Stealth Rock
-Power Whip
-Leech Seed
Ferrothorn + Jellicent go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly. They perfectly cover each other's weaknesses. This one is more sp def, with more likelihood based that a Fire Blast is more probable than Flare Blitz. I have my SR + Spin Blocker in JelliThorn. I have Power Whip which hits Ground/Water types hard that Electivire couldn't hit for SuperEffective damage. Also, stops other Leech Seeds that would be meant for Jellicent. Thunder Wave makes setting up by Scrafty easier seeing as he is slow.
Starmie@Expert Belt
Timid Nature
Natural Cure
4 HP/ 252 Sp Attack/ 252 Speed
-Rapid Spin
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
This is my Pseudo-Specs Starmie. Expert Belt gives the impression of being locked into a Choice Specs move. The opponent would switch in and get a different move hit instead. BoltBeam is there, but specially attacking to compliment Electivire's Physical BoltBeam. Surf was chosen over PsychoShock due to the number of physical attackers I have on my team that could handle Blissey, between Mienshao, Scrafty and Electivire.
So, this was my favorite pokes team. Starmie/Jellicent attract electric attacks which would help Electivire. They also attract Grass for Ferrothorn. Starmie/Jellicent take care of fighting types for Scrafty/Ferrothorn. I think the main problem would be ground, but Jellicent's WoW would take care of most Earthquakes. The only other options would be Sheer Force Sp Attacking Nidoking, which wouldn't switch in too fast with Scald at Jellicent's Arsenal. The team is pretty balanced and it can function in all weathers.
Comments/Thoughts are welcome :-)
