[b]13˝. It covers each others weaknesses pretty well, but something that could be troublesome is that six types effect two Pokémon for 'Super Effective' damage. Something can really ease that, only if you really want to make a somewhat big change to the team. The Team:
Crobat @ Wide Lens
Timid : Inner Focus
160 HP/216 Spe/132 SpA
- Taunt
- Hypnosis
- U-turn
- Heat Wave
Pretty standard lead. Taunt messes up lots of leads that want to set up. Hypnosis is to put the rest to sleep then I can U-turn out and set up an appropriate counter. Heat Wave is a nice platinum tutor move and is just amazing on Crobat because steel pokes are a common switch in on Crobat. They get a nasty surprise when Crobat brings the heat. This looks good the way it is. Just be sure to switch out against other base 130 opponents, the only ones being Jolteon and Aerodactyl.
Blissey @ Leftovers
Calm : Natural Cure
252 Def/80 SpA/176 SpD
- Wish
- Protect
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
Pretty standard WishBliss here. Wish and protect for stalling / healing teammates. Flamethrower to hit pokes that resist poison. This is solid as it is. I'll only bring this up for consideration, is that you could switch the Sp.Def EVs into HP, just to make it easier to survive physical hits. Other then that to consider, it's fine.
Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Timid : Natural Cure
106 HP/152 Spe/252 SpA
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
I like to have a scarfer on all of my teams to counter other scarfers and Starmie counters them well with a very nice move pool. The EVs given allow me to hit 456 speed and still remain fairly bulky. This is really good the way it is. One thing I'd like to applaud you for is the EV spread. While this basically is just like a Life Orb set, without the Orb the EV spread let's it go first against Choice 110's with non speed natures, mainly Gengar and other Starmies. Pretty unique.
Gengar @ Life Orb
Adamant : Levitate
6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Shadow Claw
- Thunder Punch / Explosion
This is my own interesting set for Gengar. With Brick Break and Ice Punch he hits 11 pokes for super effective damage (just like weavile). Shadow Claw is for STAB and Thunder Punch for added coverage. Explosion can be used instead to save your @$$ in a tight spot. After a Swords Dance from Gliscor, Gengar hits 502 attack and gets an added boost from Life Orb. This set is nothing to cough at. Anytime you're going to be upping the attack stat, it's generally a good idea to go with a speed nature, since without it not only other 110's are faster, but some slightly slower ones can go first, and when you're passing a SD, it would be a good thing to consider Jolly. As for the last move slot, depends what you want, Water coverage and an anti Gyarados, or instant KO, and, as you put it, @$$ coverage. =P
Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed : Torrent
240 HP/216 Def/52 SpA
- Earthquake
- Surf
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
Standard MixPert. Earthquake and Surf for STAB. Stealth Rock provides some support for my team and Roar phazes people trying to set up on me. And I will stick with my old views on Roar+SR. Usually, Stealth Rock won't be doing exactly the best damage, most of the time Leftovers heals the bulk of it off. And few tend to have more then one, maybe two that are weak to it. And in turn, you'll tend to run the risk of Swampert taking more damage then it'll deal out with the switch. Especially when another move could deal more damage quite easily. Of course it can stop them in the process of stat upping, but since most are weak to Swampert, they'd be a fool to stay in and attempt such against it.
So, I'd suggest (if you do deem it a good idea to switch) Stone Edge or Avalanche.
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Impish : Hyper Cutter
236 HP / 28 Atk / 28 Def / 218 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
Let's face it, lots of Lucarios have been packing HP Ice to counter Gliscors. This set counters that right back. The EV's allow Gliscor to outspeed Adamant Lucario and Earthquake OHKO's while allowing Gliscor to remain as bulky as possible. Swords Dance and Baton Pass allow me to set up Gengar for a sweep. After a Swords Dance, Stone Edge OHKO's bulkydos. This set can serve as a backup physical sweeper just in case Gengar bits the dust. This looks just fine as it is. Nothing much to improve upon the idea, really. |
Now, what I said in the rating, this is what would cut down the weaknesses that effect two of your Pokémon.
Weavile • Life Orb
Nature • Jolly
EVs, HP-6, Attack-252, Speed-252.
Moves,
• Taunt
• Night Slash
• Ice Punch
• Brick Break
The main reason, is it gets rid of the second weaknesses from Ghost, Dark, Psychic and Ice. Though, what gained (in a bad way) is a Fighting, Rock, Bug and Fire weakness. The good thing, is that three others resist fighting (not counting Crobat), two others resist Fire, one other resists Rock and lastly, two others resist the not so common Bug type.
It keeps Taunt if you want it, other wise you can replace that for something else. Substitute could be a novel idea, since they might switch out of fright, in that case Leftovers could be used. Anyway, also the main reason for this, is the general idea of having a Physical Sweeper that relies and requires on a Baton Pass to to sweep, doesn't appeal to me due to it not being so reliable in the clutch.
In that case, for Gengar you could keep one part of the old one...
Gengar • Wide Lens
Nature • Naive/Hasty
EVs, Attack-200, Sp.Atk-56, Speed-252.
Moves,
• Hypnosis
• Shadow Claw
• Thunder/Thunder Punch/Focus Blast/Brick Break
• Ice Punch
You can still choose to keep it all physical, and in that case, change the EV around. Likewise with making it all special. I don't mention T.bolt because that's in a weird sketchy void, since it's Sp.Atk is so much lower then normal, that all power would be welcome.
Now, if you feel this over all breaks the synergy and strategy of your original team, you don't have to change it. While the changes somewhat help, they aren't totally necessary.
p.s. Plus, Weavile has purple (non-shiny) though not the majority of it is, or shiny where most of it is Pink.
