Different levels of gaining EXP:
Battling other Trainers in the RP or other Pokemon Players will give you a superb amount of EXP (depending on the difficulty of the battle).
Training with other Trainers of Pokemon in the RP will give you a high amount of EXP.
Training alone will give you medium to high amounts of EXP depending on the level of difficulty and amount of details in the training.
Battling random Pokemon/Trainers will get you the lowest amount of EXP but can be flexible.

Words on post Length and Detail

Longer well detailed posts add to the flow of the RP. While it's easy to spit out one line posts, they start to clutter and take up space. Three pages can be taken up by the same amount of words that go into the average post this way. By posting with detail and giving some length, your posts are also more interesting to read. Tell me, which seems cooler to you?




The latter had much more detail and showed how it happened. This shows that the author knew what they were doing, and enjoyed it. It also enables the opponent a better chance at countering and gauging how tough this would hit. The first post shows a lack of interest because of how simple it is. But not everyone is a writer, so a post like the one below would have the same effect as the second of the two above while also not requiring much work.



It only took a small amount of effort to change from a simple one line to three good lines. This is what we are aiming for. We want to make our posts interesting to read, show off our skill, and feel proud by what we accomplish as an RPer. Below I am going to give some examples and likely XP feed out.

It'd get no XP.

Minimal-Small
This post is slightly longer, though still not a lot of detail. It has enough to where you know what is going on, but this is not what is desired.
It is acceptable though, and you'd get small amount of XP from it.

Good/Moderate
This post might not be lengthy, but it has a good amount of detail. You can clearly tell what is going on, and what the character is up to. Even though the action was simply falling asleep, McQ was able to make a good post about it.
This post would give you a decent amount of XP.

Optimal
Lengthy, and well detailed and structured. [[I feel like an egotistic guy now...]] This is the kind of posts we like. It raises the bar, and is a good read.
You'd get a good amount of XP out of this.

Great work
Posts of this magnitude are a long read, but are worth it. They are usually interesting, but it's a good idea to have a "TL;DR" at the bottom in case some people won't be able to read all that much. [[TL;DR = Too long;didn't read. It's basically a really quick summary]]
These posts would give you a large amount of XP for the work put into it.

OH GAWD WHY!?
As awesomely long and impressive detail this post has, my goodness it just a little too much. [[Yes, that is my handiwork]]
I'm sure it'll be worth a fat amount of XP, but it's just far too long to really read.

*I poke me head out of a cave and look at all the trees. I see other Pokemon roaming about. I'm a bit Timid about going out. I decide to stay in the cave a bit longer. I am a Charmander. This is my first day being able to walk around. I remember my mom always caring for me but she was gone now. I don't know where she went. She usually only left for a second to get food but she's been gone for a long time now.



"Where am I? What happened with my mom? Mmmmm..."

*growlithe walks around randomly.very lost....and very hungry*

*stomach growls* "I'm hungry...and tired..."

*I look around the cave.



"There's nothing in here to eat and it's time for breakfast. Mmmm... Guess I'll have to leave the cave after all."

*I poke my head out the cave again before slowly inching my way out. I see a tree with Oran Berries on them a few feet away. I head toward the tree.

"Those berries look good."

*I arrive safely to the Oran Berry Tree. I look up.

"How am I supposed to get them? They're so high up."

*I look at the trunk of the tree.

"Maybe I could try climbing."

*I grip onto the tree and slowly inched his way up to the berries.

*I made it to a branch where I saw a bunch of Oran Berries growing.

"Alright. I made it."

*I steadily crawl on the branch to the berries. I pick one off the branch and begin to eat.

"This is really good."

*I sit over the branch and look at all the Pokemon below.

*growlithe yawns after eating*

"I think I'll take a nap"

*growlithe curls up near the tree that it bashed it head on and slowly fell asleep*

*A trainer in Red suddenly speeds by the Growlithe without even noticing him. A few minutes later, he speed by the Charmander. The Charmander was too small to see. The trainer appears to be starting his journey and is very excited.

*I sigh in relief.

"Good thing he didn't see me. I wonder where he's off to in such a hurry."

*I go in the direction the trainer ran off to.
