Say you have 4 people in the hub and one is having trouble connecting, it would be nice if there was a 5th person there who could try and connect too.
No limit means fewer hubs with more people = better chance of getting a game faster and easier.

The limit is used to discourage users from using the hubs as strictly a chat room. If you notice, most of the "generic hubs" really are not game hubs at all... allot people just want to chat in them.
It's probably not the answer you wanted, but that is the main reason for setting the limit.
If you ever come across a game that needs a limit higher than 4 let us know and we can change the limit for that game.
