Question about requesting Awards

Why can we only request certain ones? I mean I understand why we cant request the Pianta tokens, but why not the For the Thought award or the Bowser award? It doesnt make sense that we can only request some awards and not others...

Perhaps, because we do not have any people that actually individual members that certainly deserve that award. Either that, or perhaps they did not make a function that allows people to request those certain awards.

How these awards are obtained is a mystery...

(also should be are not is since it's a plural (awards))
Some awards are chosen to whom they are given by staff while others just require the use to reach a certain goal (like post counts)

I think that's because those are awards solely given out by the ones who created the awards. An example would be "R1kk1's double 1's" and only he'd be able to give people that award. I might be wrong, but this sounds most logical to me (if you are referring to those, that is).

No I mean like the for the thought award. No one moniters that do they?
