Awards aren't awards if they're easy to earn, and they would be pointless if they were easy to get. They're only nearly pointless now. They're supposed to signify an achievement. Achievements take time and effort. Signing up for a website doesn't take much time or effort, so why should there be an award
for it? Stupid idea, no?

As for the arcade, you already get enough recognition by receiving "champion" status in the arcade. That's enough of a reward if you ask me.

As far as grammar goes, THAT takes time and effort to learn. You gotta know your nouns, your verbs, your punctuation, and your sentence/paragraph structures, plus a bunch of other garbage that you learn in school. Having good grammar isn't exactly easy, and you have to show that you have good grammar for a long period of time before you're recognized for the award. It's not like "ooh, I'm gonna post my next 5 posts in good grammar, then I'll get the award! : D", no, it doesn't work like that. Plus, good grammar makes posts easier to read, which benefits the site a great deal. if evry1 posted lik dis it wuld mak things round here much harder 2 comprehend u kno wut im sayin?

I pitched that idea a loooooong time ago. I made an icon for it and everything.



I got shot down though, with the reasoning being that such an act of obtaining a full bar of negative reputation shouldn't be rewarded.

Weird. Maybe it's because I haven't been here for a few months. I remember there was one user telling everyone to give him negative karma. I just don't remember who.

This is the part where I bring in the point that some people prefer negative reputation over positive, and technically it wouldn't grant them the End of the Line award if they were to max out that negative bar.

But, then I'd experience deja vu (because that's how it went in my thread).

Memebers like that either leave the site, turn out to be a troll and are banned or have the problem resolved and join the regular blue karma members once more.

Also the members you see that have full negative bars gained it from a staff member. Negative karma only travels by one point making it hard enough to get two bars.

@Kayzee: I could see an exchange of good deeds being rewarded by negative karma but then we have people who will beg for karma trades and the occasional funny guy who wants to eff others over by rewarding them with positive karma. That being said our karma system is and always will be a joke.

The problem is, that getting a full bar of negative karma would be almost impossible, and probably take years of being constantly disliked. Since each negative rep is only -1 point, and each positive rep is anywhere from 0 to twenty, it would be even harder.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone with more that one negative bar, unless it was edited by an admin.


On a side note, there is an award for arcade high scores now.
