I will change the chat client soon... we won't be using mibbit anymore. I hear too many issues with it. I had an operserv exception list for mibbit hosts, its main client IP and widget IP, I had throttle exceptions, I had it in the allow block, etc. It worked for months then suddenly it doesn't work anymore, and it's not worth the fuss of emailing mibbit to put us on their list. Not enough of the users on SLR (from other communities) use mibbit to worry about it.

PJIRC used to be more than satisfactory; it's what I used when I started on this site and first became a chat op. So we can use it again.

I have checked the Mod CP and I am the only person using my IP.

While we, and by we I mean Dani (<_<), are working on the fix for mibbit or switching to PJirc, you can use Communication Tube - icq/gtalk/irc/msn web-based messenger! for a client. For some of you that come in chat on a regular basis maybe this is a sign for you to just download Hydra IRC, Xchat, or mIRC clients.

Using communicationtube:

Type your username (nick), type the host and port exactly like that. You'll be brought into the server and a list of channels will be on the left. Only join #friendcodes please, don't bother others on the network.

It's not a great alternative, but at least you can get on, right?

Chat changed to PJIRC... it's not pretty at the moment, but it does the trick. I'll try to get it to follow the same style as the rest of the forums at some stage...
