This is a serious issue.
If you feel that any member is harassing you in a rude or inappropriate way, or hassling you for personal information you don't want to share,
you can report them. We don't allow harassment on Friendcodes, especially towards our young members. Usually when someone is harassing you, they will try to contact you privately, instead of openly on the forums. We encourage anyone who feels threatened or harassed to report the member bothering you.
Please don't be afraid to report messages to the staff, especially if you feel extremely uncomfortable with what the person is saying to you.
You don't have to put up with it. The staff are here to help.
How to Report
You can report Visitor Messages in your profile by clicking on "Report", and you can also report private messages by clicking on the red "R" (

). Hubs can be reported by clicking the "R" next to the hub (in the list of hubs). IMs can't be reported at this stage automatically so you will need to take a
screenshot.
You can also report members by private messaging a moderator or admin, but make sure you have evidence. We can't just go penalising members without proof. Screenshots are accepted but not always reliable since they can be easily edited.
Tips for ignoring/blocking people you don't want contacting you
- First, go to your Buddylist and make sure the person is not on that list. If someone you don't like is on your Buddylist they will be able to contact you via IM, profile and private message.
- Go to your Ignore List and add the person's username to that list.
- Go to Edit Options and tick "Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators" as well as "Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators". This way only people on your Buddylist can contact you via Private Message or Visitor Message on your profile.
- You can also tick "Use Invisible Mode" in Edit Options if you don't want people to be able to see you online.
If your report doesn't get acknowledged the first time, don't give up - the staff might have missed it, or you may not have clearly expressed how serious the issue really is. Feel free to message a moderator and ask if they've seen your report.
