because they can't except the fact that they will be put at a disadvantage. Because they don't know how to play the game with all of its mechanics.
If the item exists in the game use it. You can easily counter it that's why it was placed there.
If someone grabs a star man start dodge rolling and sprinting that's what i do.
Someone gets the smash ball Hit them as hard as you can before the performance of a move or stay far away as possible.

That's why I prefer Street Fighter. Its not too complicated to say oh you can't use "insert characters name other then Gill here" however that's not the case. All you guys who say oh metaknights or Ike is a cheap noob character. Okay, so? If Ike is a noob character. Can't you beat it with ease? And if Metaknigt is soo cheap, why not learn to find something to get ride of it like oh i don't some kind of tool to use at certain times, randomly generated, i....it....item mabey? Okay now I am just being a *****, but really absorbing all of the fun out of a game is like buying a birthday cake for your friend and there is no icing or candles on the cake, its just not fun.
Now Tournaments or not. A game should be enjoyed to the full extent. Don't listen to these "Official rules" that some sweaty middle aged guy who lives under his mothers basement made up. Make up your own tournament rules say "
FC official tournament rules" Make it creative that way some people might join in the sight more instead of "oh no items" or "oh no "Insert character name here" because anyone who uses that is BANNED from the tournament"
I wouldn't mind people using this, but I don't want this rule to be enforced. If someone wants to use Ike in a tournament in which case he isn't allowed let him.
Half the time in video gaming enjoyment is the loss. Excepting that you aren't the man on the spot light, but knowning that you have flaws. Video gaming is kind of like life. You can't throw yourself in to center stage and assume that everyone will like you. You have to take it slowly learn the facts(or in this case strategy).
I play Street Fighter with my history teacher, he kicks my butt all the time, but you know what. I still laugh and have a good time, we don't ban characters or moves. We just have fun.
Well now I got that covered I am most certain that 75% of the people will skip this because its over a paragraph long and 25% will find some excuse to make a statement.(about 5% actually good and 20% just laughable stupid)
