Toon Link
Introduction - What guide doesn't have this? <_<
So yeah, I've been using Toon Link for a while, and I think I have a basic feel for him. Note that I don't consider myself anywhere near-pro, but I believe I'm pretty proficient with Toon Link. I made this guide out of boredom since I don't really have anything to do the day before Spring Break D:
So why Toon Link?
A better question would probably like, "Why not Toon Link?". In my opinion, Toon Link is one of the best characters in Brawl for me, if not the best. Toon Link is almost as fast as Sonic(or so I've heard), but I'm not quite sure if this is true. Also, though categorized as lower-tier for power, it's still higher than ROB, which makes me wonder why he's low-tier D: When I played 2FAST4U, I realized that Toon Link has an AMAZING recovery ability, and rarely flies off stage.

Moves
Not really sure on move names, so I'll just use Link's moves' names :P
Standard Special Move - Hero's Bow
One of the moves that I personally abuse. This racks up damage nicely on slower characters as it's hard for them to get out of you spamming arrows. This can be charged and its damage, knockback, speed, and distance are increased the longer it's charged and stops charging after a while. You can tell this by the arrowhead shining brightly. This does 4% when not-charged, and 12% when fully-charged. This attack is useful for stopping people dead in their tracks so that you can start to combo with the rest of Toon Link's amazing attacks.
Up Special Move - Spin Attack
This move hits nine times, with the last hit being the most fatal. The first eight hits do 1%, possibly 2% if you charge it up, and the final hit does 3%, or 5% charged. When on the ground, I find little use for this move, but it could be nice for racking up some damage or stopping Fox/Falco/Wolf from spamming their moves. This move is the most potent in the air. If you land the final hit in mid-air, it sends the foe flying upward at a rapid pace. Do note though, this move can only be charged on the ground, NOT in the air. As most up specials, this move has great recovery capabilities, and can ascend greatly to get yourself back on the stage.
Side Special Move - Boomerang
Ah, the Boomerang, one of Link's signature moves. Boomerang has a pretty long "cast-time" if you will, and you will find it hard to even use this. Boomerang does 11% at REALLY close range, 8% on the first arc of the throw, and 3% when it comes back to you. This also can stop opponents temporarily, and can be comboed easily with Hero's Bow. If you hold up or down, Toon Link will subtly lower or raise where he throws it. If you suddenly drop/jump while on the Boomerang's return, the Boomerang will fly past you and continue on its path. This can be very useful if you throw the Boomerang the wrong way and the opponent is behind you.
Down Special Move - Bomb
Link's Bomb, who doesn't know about this? Though useful, this also has a long "cast-time", similiar to his Boomerang. What I find the worst about this move though, is that opponents can actually grab the bomb when it touches them. This gets annoying at times, but if they don't see it they might just let it blow up in their face. I tend to combo this with Toon Link's Dair(Down Air). After throwing down the Bomb, his Dair is pretty much guaranteed to hit, so this combination can rack up damage quickly and is very hard to get out of if you know what you're doing. This does 5%~7% damage upon impact.
Standard Ground Move - Stab
This is literally what it's called - a stab(s). This move is useful for opponents running towards you, and racks up 10% if all three hits land.
Up Ground Move - Tilt
Toon Link swings the sword up for 9%. Self-explanatory.
Forward Ground Move - Tilt
Toon Link swings the sword forward for 9%.
Down Ground Move - Tilt
Crouches and stabs. Pretty useless due to lack of range, but can be used for epic lulz.
Up Ground Move - Smash
Swings above his head again, only for more damage. 15% and 20% charged.
Forward Ground Move - Smash
Same as his F-Tilt, except with a second swing if you press A again. 10% and 14% charged. The second swing does 23% and 32% charged, and is what I mainly use to kill people on the ground since this is one of the cheapest moves I've seen on Toon Link :P
Down Ground Move - Smash
MUCH more useful than his D-Tilt. This slashes in front of him for 6% and 8% uncharged. This is followed up by ANOTHER slash behind him - if the first hit lands, the opponent is brought to the second hit - for 11% and 15% uncharged. Useful for starting aerial combos.
Standard Aerial Move
Swings in front and behind doing 10%
Up Aerial Move
Lunges his sword up into the air for 14%. This move has great knock back and even becomes shiny :P
Forward Aerial Move
Swings in front for 13%
Back Aerial Move
Swings behind for 10% damage, yet is faster and can even be a combo by itself if chained properly.
Down Aerial Move
My favorite aerial move, this is like his Uair, except his sword points down and he descends faster than the speed of light. If you hit the opponent, Toon Link does a little "jump" and you can have a chance at hitting them again. This does 13%-16% and 8% on the second hit. I suggest not using this when you have no land below you, since I've died many times for stupidity because of this D:
Grab Aerial Move
Toon Link uses his grapple hook for 4% damage. Not very useful.
Grab Hit
Toon Link hits the opponent for 2%. I usually do this once or twice before actually throwing them.
Up Grab
Toon Link swings up for 7%
Forward Grab
Toon Link rams his shoulder into the opponent for 7%
Back Grab
Rolls then throws the opponent behind him for 7% damage.
Down Grab
Forgot what he does, but he throws him down for 7% damage. Arguably one of the best grabs for anybody.

Combos
Punishment
This was found out by 2FAST4U and I take no credit for it whatsoever.
2FAST4U called this Punishment, and it is impossible to stop. This can work on both land and air, and has very lethal results. I will start with how to do it on the ground since that's what 2FAST4U did :P You want to run up to your opponent then double jump quickly so that you jump off of their head, also known as a footstool jump. After this, quickly do a Dair once or twice. If you do this quickly enough, you may even do the glitch also found by 2FAST4U. The opponent will actually spike through the ground. It's basically the same thing in the air, and it will always hit the opponent.
Here is a video of Fox doing a "Footstool Shine", which is basically the same thing.
Down Grab + Back Air
This is one of Toon Link's more potent combos. Toon Link's DGrab will slightly throw the opponent behind him, setting up for a deadly combo of Bair. If done properly, you can even infinitely do this then Dair them off the map.

Bomb + Down Air
I tend to use Toon Link's Bomb with his Dair. After throwing down the Bomb, his Dair is pretty much guaranteed to hit, so this combination can rack up damage quickly and is very hard to get out of if you know what you're doing. This does 5%~7% damage from the Bomb, 13%-16% from the Dairand 8% on the second hit. This is one of my favorite combos because of its simplicity.

Other
Bomb Drop + Down Air - Bomb Sliding
This sounds exactly like the one above, but it is VERY different. You grab a bomb, then short hop. Press the Grab button RIGHT before you touch the ground, and you should drop the bomb. The bomb should just be sitting on the ground, and shouldn't've exploded. Now short hop and Dair so that the bomb actually slides across the floor. This is for the humorous factor but can be used effectively in battle, too.

Edge Hogging with Toon Link
This can be useful for blocking the edge so that characters can't get up. Dodge away from the ledge, and press A. This will keep you invincible if you keep doing it, but you can only do it three times. On the fourth time it'll just fail. This helps just in case you don't feel like risking a Dair meteor.
Dual Arrow
Short hop and shoot an arrow. Shoot another arrow before hitting the ground, and you've just shot two arrows in a single short hop. Takes a while to get used to, but becomes effective for spamming arrows.

Nice. I dont have the game yet D= (why hasnt it got here yet ahrahalulzlza) But i do plan on trying to become a good toon link player. If he is like his young link counter part i should like him alot. I have to get good with one of the links though just for my name =P.
sounds to me that most of his moves are the same as young link but without him awesome double kick :<. I liked that move
