You may not reproduce this guide for public use. You may not reproduce this to put it on other websites unless you have my permission and give me credit. You may copy this for private use without my permission. Thank you. Hello everyone and welcome to my guide! First of
all, Ness is projectile friendly! No more suffering
to spammers! You can reflect EVERY projectile in
the game with his bat and you can convert energy
based projectiles into health!! Most of his moves
have multiple uses, you can adapt to the situation! He has three very different
projectiles to boot, that means you could beat your foe at a distance! He is light, but not super light, he has good aerial attacks and good ground attacks,
you can give your foe a stunning surprise when he
tries to stop your recovery. He’s very unique.
All his moves and their uses. Yep,
all of them.
Standard (A)
Damage: 3%
Knockback: Makes your opponent flinch.
Description: A quick little punch. Low knockback, low
damage. It would be smart to do a (A)(A)(A) combo.
Range: Very little.
K.O. at: 999%
(A)(A)(A) Combo
Damage: 9%
Knockback: Makes you just out of reach.
Description: Punch punch kick! It comes out pretty fast.
Range: See above.
K.O. at: 999%
Side tilt
Damage: 11%
Knockback: Tad less than (A)(A)(A) combo.
Description: A roundhouse kick.
Range: 1 Ness.
K.O. at: 160%
Down tilt
Damage: 4%
Knockback: Virtually None
Description: A kick downwards. You can do it
very fast for lots of damage and you can edge guard
with it. It trips your opponent often.
Range: Hardly any.
K.O. at: Not happening.
Up tilt
Damage: 7%
Knockback: For juggling use.
Description: Volley!
Range: Half a Ness.
K.O. at: 150%
Dash attack
Damage: 13% if all sparklies connect.
Knockback: Last sparkly sends opponent upwards.
Description: Often called PSI Brainshock.
Range: A Ness.
K.O. at: Keep dreaming.
Side (B) PK Fire
Damage: If all pillars connect, 22%
Knockback: Starts at high %
Description: This is where multiple use moves
are starting to come in. Ness shoots a lightning bolt,
which when hit, bursts into a flame pillar and
traps your opponent inside. When in the air, it flies
at a downwards angle. If you use this when your
opponent is recovering, the pillar move down!!
With your foe still inside!!
Range: 6 Ness’.
K.O. at: 999%
Standard (B) PK Flash FINISHER!!
Damage: When fully charged, 37%
Knockback: Very far up.
Description: A big green blob rises from Ness then
starts to descend. Don’t use it for attack or you’ll
get punished!! Use it for edge guarding, and juggling.
Range: 4 Ness’ fit in the blast.
K.O. at: 60%
Up (B) PK Thunder
Damage: Head: 8% Tail: 1%
Knockback: Juggling purposes.
Description: Ness shoot a lighting ball with a tail from
his head. He is left vulnerable while you control it just
like the standard (B). If you hit with the head, it juggles
and disappears, hit with the tail, and it stuns and stays.
Range: Hard to explain.
K.O. at: 300%
Up (B) 2? PK Thunder 2/ PK cannonball FINISHER!!
Damage: 25%
Knockback: Massive
Description: Wondering how to recover from falls with
Ness? Hit yourself with PK Thunder! This takes lots of
practice. You literally have to be able to do it with your
eyes closed! It launches Ness like a cannonball and he
has unbelievable priority!! This attack has tons of different
names, like PK Missiile, or PK Kamikaze. The list goes on.
Range: Half of Final Destination.
K.O. at: 45%
Down (B) PSI Magnet
Damage: None.
Knockback: Tiny bit when deactivated.
Description: One of your best attacks!! It creates a
force field around you that converts energy base
projectiles into health! And when deactivated, it makes
PK Wind. It pushes anything and anyone away! You can use it to air stall also.
Range: 3 Ness’.
K.O. at: Nope, unless your foe is stunned
and you can walk to your doom. (Like in the
Bridge of Eldin)

Re: Ness FAQ/Guide -
07-10-08
Stages [H.g73hd]
Recommended:
Battlefield- Perfect for aerialists.
Final Destination- Wide open space!
Pirate Ship- Use the water to your advantage.
Distant Planet- Use your fixed throw (Forward throw) to throw your opponent into a bulborb's mouth.
Pokemon Stadium 2- Use the air mode to your advantage.
Summit- When it's falling, you have less gravity.
Green Hill Zone- Some of the terrain is PK Flammable.
Avoid:
Rumble Falls- This will REALLY mess up your moves.
Skyworld
Probably some more but I don't know which ones.
Strategies [G.f73jk9]
2 Player Matches
When you're falling down and your opponent is below you, waiting, use PK Thunder 2 at him/her.
It's okay to run.
Short hop + Nair is a good, quick attack.
Do a forward throw next to and facing a ledge, then meteor smash.
PK Fire is a good combo starter.
NEVER use PK Flash except for edgeguarding and juggling.
Ness' bat reflects projectiles.
Fair is great for getting ledgeguarders out of your way.
Use Nair to break combos.
4 Player Strategies
Use your Nair and down smash if you're surrounded by everyone and can't see yourself. It will hit someone after all.
Do not use PK Flash once!
PK Fire can trap multiple people.
PK Thunder 2 is perfect.
It's okay to run.
Vs. Ness [F.d6wj4] Yep, I devoted a whole section on how to beat another Ness. If you don’t know his weaknesses, you’ll learn them now. It’s pretty easy to stop a Ness or Lucas recovering. Either, use your PK Thunder to cancel the other one, or just jump into his, then watch him helplessly fall to his doom. Avoid using projectiles and going in the sky. Do lot’s of (A) moves, dodges and grabs. Keep absorbable things in mind too
Q: Shouldn’t it be called PK lightning?
A: It doesn’t flow.
Q: My PK thunderball keeps getting canceled because my opponent jumps in it while I recover. What do I do?
A: PK Cannonball goes really far. Don’t go too close to the ledge. He/she won’t have time to cancel it out if you’re farther away.
Q: "Down (B) PSI Magnet
Damage: None."
Doesn't that hit you if you get close enough? Same for lucas?
A: Ness has "PK wind", Lucas has the attack.
If you have questions, something to correct, etc, e-mail me at vzsheppard@canoemail.com
This is not the final version of this guide. It will be updated.

PK Thunder has always been able to K.O, and most of the other moves that your guide states otherwise. I'll stop there.
