[center][A.] Olimar's History
Olimar first appeared in Pikmin, which was released to the Nintendo GameCube in 2001. In the game, Olimar had to recover the missing pieces of his rocket ship and leave the unknown planet he was stranded on in 30 days. With the help of the friendly Pikmin, Olimar was able to command them and make it off the planet. Olimar later returned to the planet with Louie in Pikmin 2 to find treasures that could pay off the debt Hocotate owed for missing PikPik Carrots. Olimar gained enough funds to get the company back with the help of the Pikmin once again and blasted off. Will Olimar return in a possible Pikmin 3? Only time will tell...EDIT there will be
[B.] Playing as Olimar
Olimar is quite different than the other players. His Smash Attacks and Aerial Attacks cannot be preformed without Pikmin. A smart Olimar player keeps a full amount of Pikmin with him at all times when possible. Olimar is light and small, making him fast and manueverable. Playing with Olimar will require lots of practice, but you'll find that his skills are superb when mastered.
[i.]PROS
Light and fast, with decent recovery
Deals with longe-range and up-close combat
Has a fast, extended grab
Can latch Pikmin onto enemies while dealing extra damage
has strength with different pikmin.
[ii.]CONS
His light weight makes him easier to KO
Olimar has a tighter learning curver than many characters
After coming back from dying, he starts with no Pikmin
Pikmin can be killed from physical attacks
Two of his Special Moves are only for ordering Pikmin
Lacks many physical moves without any Pikmin
[C.] Pikmin Variations

[VI].Character Matchups
Mario - A good Mario knows not to stay in the air too long against Olimar. They will probably shuffle some aerials and stay on the ground. Use your Smashes wisely, as they can be of great assistance. Don't spam them though. Try keeping them in the air. Juggling with your Usmash is very useful. Don't let them run away. Fire balls are evil, as most Mario players will use it as an approach. Spot dodging and such are recommended. Almost an even match. but watch out for the cape as it could make you pikmin chain in the wrong direction and that's VERY bad. Overall if you manage to keep him in the air you will do well
Luigi - This guy is a pain for olimar Unlike his brother Luigi is an excellent aerial opponent. so its best to use basic white pikmin throw then grab strategies to build damage. smashes are good to use its important to keep distant but also keep close. try to grab, pikmin throw, and the occasional smash to victory A couple aerials here and there are not so bad either.
Peach - Yes she has excellent aerials but they're slow. its important to juggle and watch out for vegetables and side b. She is light so combos are hard and its hard to get around glide tossing just watch out fair and you will be ok. smashes are a great counter for side b. and grabs can stop some spamming keep her in the air by using QUICK attacks so she wont be able to combo other than that goodluck.
Bowser - A particularly easy fight. he is reallyslow and heavy his recovery is bad so a ms at 30% could do it. but a good bowser will look at chances to grab and use fire and if your behind, bowser-side. other than that watch out for the smashes.
Donkey Kong - Now this is just devestating his ftilt keeps fsmash out of the question grabbing is hard and to top it off bair can kick ass. and his smashes have great rand and he can juggle well this fight is one of olimars toughest. keep him far and range if you get close your dead. when in air nair as much as you can its the best counter but he is easy to combo at least...
Diddy - A pretty even match but the bananas and glide tossing are just plain devastating. he has good range with side b so look out a little aerials are not bad and grabs. smashing is the best spacing but dont spam the rest is up to you.
Yoshi - Yoshi is a hard matchup. he has killer aerials and a decent ground game although if you can get past his long jump and cancel it he is doomed.
grab when he is near pikmn throw when apart. use aerials wisely, and for a finish foward smash when spaced. its even but it favors yoshi slightly.
Wario - Now this is an even fight. both are excellent aerial game ground has good spacing grabs are good though olimar has the edge there. so you need to keep range and pikmin throw and watch out for chomp and dash canceling.
