become proffesional con artists i got a new router so my connection is good now on my wii i went ot go on wifi for my ds. I forgot about needing my router to have wep security and my doesent and i have looked up ways to get online and so far the only way is to buy a nintendo wifi usb conector and install a program on my comp/laptop. These cost £35 each and i was planning on buying accf for the wii (why are these the same price) so the main reason of this thread relly is to see if there is another way to get online with my ds.

All it need is an encryption key that is located somewhere around the source of your computer, the DS is the same thing like the Wii, to get the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, it does connected to the different computers with their own encryption key. The other things to fill in are optional if you want, if you need help of your background images or Mp3 Player on your profile, message me in my profile, I am happy to help.

No my router does not support wep which the ds needs

Really? I don't think that the DS requires a WEP key does it? Like, there's a way to set it to search for nearby routers. If your router is security locked with a WEP key to keep random people from accessing then yes, you'll need the WEP key. If you turn off the security on your router you should be able to access it with your DS.

I mean, I've logged WiFi on my DS using my neighbours router and I didn't need a WEP key.

How old is your router? You can search for other access points with your DS and like Suntro said, you don't need a WEP.

the newest one from bt it has security just the ds dosent support the same type. Like ive said the ds either needs a router with wep or one with no securty (hotspot most times)

If it's a new router then if should a WEP key option. Try lowering the security on your router.

ive tried all that my router dosen support the things ds ned so ill need to buy the stupid usb becaus nintendo ••••ed up again

When I hooked up my DS, I had to use the WEP code from my home's internet. This was a pain to find, but once I entered it it worked. My wii wasn't a problem to set up on the same internet connection either :/

You're one of those noobs that fails at doing something correctly and blames it on the item or the people behind it.
