Backlight help

So currently, my laptop is acting up. Some one sent me a nimp. org (Do NOT go there, it can damage your computer and sends a virus) trick and messed up my computers backlight, and now it goes out every 10 minutes or so. I keep having to press fn+f3 to fix it, but it doesn't always work. Is there any way I can prevent the backlight from shutting off, or should I just have it fixed?

Have you tried checking your energy settings in the control panel? Set it to always on, or something.

Yeah, the LED is broken, so I ordered a new one to replace it manually. Hopefully it wont shut off anymore.
