i need Laptop help,information.

(hoping this is right thread,saw all hardware thread here so..) i am looking to buy a laptop for 450 or under and i have a couple a questions about them as i dont know to much about computer parts,programs,etc so any help would be appreciated.im looking to buy a G62-340hp us laptop and am wondering if this is worth the price.im pretty much going to use it for messaging and gaming,and noticed some people had some trouble with a fewer newish titles running on it,though i have seen left 4 dead run smoothly on it. also everyone has told me the battery on dies pretty fast after a couple of months,do laptops have specific battery types for each kind of laptop or all the same? i know this might not be a good place to ask but i thought id try anyway. thank you for your help!

Well your running a game, one that is pretty big mind you. Even when running emulators it takes some juice.

So best thing to do is either get a larger battery pack or leave your AC connected to your Laptop

oh i didnt think it was that much memory but its just that from reviews and a friend i have both told me after 5 or 6 months the battery goes from 4 hour life to 45 minutes life on each charge so yeah.thank you for the info! can anyone help me with the other questions?

If you want to play games on a laptop then I would suggest something with a good graphics card and a fair amount of RAM. You also want to make sure that the fans are not on the bottom of the laptop but are on the sides or top instead, so that the thing can be ventilated well while you are playing, as the parts will get hot, and if they get too hot it can slow down the laptop and render the game unplayable until the parts cool down. I would also suggest when playing games you keep your laptop on charge and take the battery out, so that it doesn't charge the battery, only powers the machine. That helps slow down the death of the battery as it is not always charging when it doesn't need to be.

Battery Life won't matter if you are playing games because in most situations where you are playing games you want to be set up with a mouse and a desk and everything so don't be concerned there. If you are traveling or a student and you don't really need the games get something made solely for battery life. It really depends what you really want. I can't tell you any good prices because I live in Australia but yeah, that's what I got.

I would suggest an HP mini netbook , they have LONG battery life and is great for games and its veery convenient :P im using one right now and it works great

Netbooks are terrible for gaming, they tend to have a small amount of RAM and next to no storage space.
