Before I begin, I'd just like to say that I am after technical help - not criticism over my choice of game purchase.
On Thursday, I purchased a Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops for my brother, as a gift, because he thoroughly enjoys playing Zombies and I thought he'd enjoy the ones from World at War that the Prestige Edition grants a download for. It was brand new and both of the codes - for the Zombies Map and the Woods Avatar Outfit - worked when I inputted them. I downloaded the Avatar Outfit first, then went to download the Zombies Maps. Once I'd put in the code I pressed 'Download' and it went to the download screen, coming up with 'Classic Zombie Pack [EN] - 0% complete' and then popped up saying 'Can't download Classic Zombie Pack [EN]'. I then went into my Download History to re-download it and when I selected it in there, the same thing happened again.
I've been on the support website, and gone through the troubleshooting page for such issues. I then took the following steps to try and resolve this issue.
- I’ve been through the ‘Delete Suggestions’ and nothing appears with a yellow exclamation mark, so nothing there is corrupted or incomplete.
- I’ve been through my Call of Duty: Black Ops folder on my hard drive and deleted everything but my saved data to see if that makes a difference, but it didn’t.
- I cleared my cache, and it didn’t help.
- The only thing I was unable to do that was suggested was delete my Rights Database, as it doesn’t appear in my System Items folder? All that’s in there is ‘Marketplace System Data’, ‘Microphone Array Calibration Data’, ‘Optional Media Update’, ‘Video Bookmark Data’ and ‘Xbox Improvement Program Data’.
I've got 66GB free on my hard drive, so it's not a size-issue and I've tried re-downloading some of the previous Call of Duty: Black Ops Map Packs that I've purchased - which are of a similar size - and they download without a problem, so I'm doubting it's a connection issue.
Is there anything anybody can suggest, other than phoning Microsoft directly, to amend this problem? Has anyone experienced a similar problem themselves, and if so, how did you resolve it?
