3DS Problem

Hi, first time poster here.

My sons 3DS only switches on with a game in, but once on it goes blank as soon as i try to go into anything.
Any advice please?

I honestly wish I have the answer to your problem Robert. At first I thought it might be selecting the settings to having it go directly into the game instead of the main menu.. but I do not believe the 3DS has that. I'll keep researching and I'll PM you or leave a message on your page.

Edit: I'm calling Nintendo right now to find out. They said they can set up a troubleshoot for you. All you have to do is call this number (1-800-255-3700)
They can diagnose and set up a repair for you if needed. Make sure to have the 3DS on hand when you're calling.

Was this bought used by chance? This may be a shot in the dark, but someone may have tried to mod that 3DS and it ended up being bricked.
Or
It could be the cartridge reader is damaged.

One of those two may be the issue. It may be the latter though since I have not heard any stories about modded 3DS...es.
Have you tried multiple different DS/3DS games? If you do have multiple games just try all of them. It could alos simply mean that the game you bought may be busted(the part where the game's data is transferred, can't remember the name at the moment). If worse comes to worse you may need to buy another 3DS.
