Re: Using Nintendo WFC things on a wireless router with password - 03-18-08

OK, ask your brother for the WEP Password because only you will know it and neighbours can't steal your signal. If he doesn't let you...buy a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB. Restarting the router does nothing.

A simple way to find out how to change it:

1. Start
2. Run
3. In the box that pops up type in cmd
4. It should bring up a command prompt, inside there type in ipconfig
5. A list should come up, look for the one that says Default Gateway: XXX.XXX.X.XXX of course the X's representing possible numbers. (Dont bother counting them, I just put in a rough estimate of how many could be in there)
6. Type that into your address bar on your Internet Browser, no www. or .coms
7. If it asks you for a password, put in admin, if that doesnt work, tell me what kind of router you have, I should be able to tell you the default password for it.
8. There should be a place where you can lock/unlock your router, go there and find out the WEP or WPA key he put in, put that into your DS or Wii, and bam, you should be able to connect.

Feel free to tell me if any of those dont work, and I'll try to reexplain it the best I can.

Hm. I need help again. I found the spot where you can stitch WPA to Wep but there are other stuff as well like default transmit key, wep encryption, etc
