It depends on how you connect to your router and the internet. On your desktop computer, how did you connect to your router (Wi-Fi, ethernet, ad hoc, etc.)? Chances are, on your laptop, you will be connecting via Wi-Fi. If this is how you connected with your desktop, it should be exactly the same. However, if you are going from a wired connection to a wireless one, expect loading times to be noticeably decreased. Also, if you play games, your ping will be higher. If you just use the internet for HTTP browsing, don't be worried about it.

I agree with him, but going from wired to wireless won't make a HUGE difference - I have a laptop and 2 desktops. The internet is about the same for all of them. When doing speed tests (such as speakeasy.net/speedtest) it's also about the same. Also, it depends on your internet service and your bandwith. If you have a GODLY UBER connection that let's you download at speeds over 10 mb/s, then wireless won't be able to keep up. If you have an average Joe connection, then it will most likely be the same.

To clarify, if you're going to use a wired connection, disregard my entire post.

Well ive decided to get a Laptop over a PC cause my old pc is downstairs and my Wii is upstairs so it would be easier to chat in the hubs here on fc using a Laptop
My old Pc used an Ethernet connection and my Laptop will be using a Wireless connection
Mainly ill be using it to look at videos , go on fc but not to play games.... ill leave that to my Wii

It should be fine then. Wireless supposedly has a speed of 54 mb/s, and up to 100 mb/s. I meant uberly godly when you could literally DOWNLOAD at 10 mb/s (as in being able to download an entire movie in a couple of minutes). But that's not in your case, and I would suggest you get a laptop.
