I do not mean to belittle you or your computer purchasing decisions, but you may want to seriously reconsider your need or want of a MacBook.
Simply put, here are the pros and cons of getting a MacBook:
Pros:
Solid build quality, rivals Lenovo (formerly IBM)
Support for popular graphic design software
Cons:
You have to pay for shoddy costumer service
Less bang for your buck (You can get a better non-Mac laptop for half the price)
You will encounter a lot of problems if you are transitioning from a PC to MacOSX
If you have a Mac ecosystem in your house already and feel like feeding more money into the flames, than go ahead. But otherwise, you may want to consider something faster, cheaper, and better. Most software does not have native OSX versions, and unless you want to do some serious graphic design (which this laptop is not powerful enough to use anyway), this laptop may not be for you.
Do a bit of research and find the best bang for your buck.

I not some Environmentalist hippie or anything but did you know that macintosh are the most unevironmentally freindly computers, the company that makes the most environmentally freindly software components is Lenovo.:)

Dude, get a Mac. It's very much worth the money. I won't even pay to have a PC. I had a PC once. It was held together by duct tape, literally. Piece of junk.. Not even worth the money while it came in that condition.
If you have any problems, you can tell me, and I'll help you out. I've been helping out two of my friends who bought Macbooks for school. ;P

If you want some tutorials on how to use MacBook, there are many helpful video tutorials on apple.com, I have a Macbook too, love the little guy haha. If you need something specific you can PM me and such, I have always had macs. I don't demean P.C. they can make some good quality computers, and Apple Inc isn't exactly an Angel of a company, but nonetheless, MacBook is a solid computer with a stable Operating System.
One tip: If you like a mouse with two button, buy a USB mouse for it, because to emulate a "right-click" you press Ctrl+Click. That is the one thing that bothers most people. MAcs are easy to get used to though if you work with it intuitively.

once you go mac, you never go back. Sure they cost more, reason: they don't crash, get viruses, or require Alot of maintenance. I've used macs for 12 years now, and I love 'em.
Soviet: you are mistaken about the graphic design capabilities. I am a graphic designer, and if I could work with zip disks on g3's 12 years ago, the garden variety MacBook of todaywould have no trouble either. All you need is an EXT drive with some extra memory and the knowledge that powerbook won't run As fast as on higher end computer models.
Oh and as for native programs --macs dualboot windows and osx, so whether it is a pc or mac program doesn't matter, it will run it.
Fun fact: macs run windows faster than pcs do.

Yeah I just upgraded to BootCamp 2.0 and it runs Windows XP like nothing! Do you have the latest OSX? I wonder when SnowLeopard is coming out... i'm sure the changes will be very minor though (at least to non-Pro users)
Just one tip though for new mac users, Viruses do effect Mac, but protection is as easy to get as any other OS, also, be aware of what is in your System's library... I find it is SO easy to seek out spammy files when you just understand all the filesystems. Going from a Mac to PC is A LOT easier than it was in the past, Mac OSX 10 makes it easier to transition.

They don't crash? Ever? Not even once? No viruses for MacOSX? None whatsoever? Huh, weird... Why is it they include a Crash Reporter application with MacOSX? Just as a joke?

What are you even implying? Because you know how to use an outdated, outmoded, and useless technology (believe me, zip disks were even useless when they were new) that somehow means that MacBooks today have no trouble with graphic design applications? Did I just read that correctly?

When you say ext (in large capital letters, too!), I can only assume you mean external. But the real point is: what are you getting at? How does an external hard drive make the computer run any faster? Did you just make this up?

You still have to pay for Windows. So in order to run Windows apps, not only do you have to pay for the bloatware they call MacOSX, but you ALSO have to fork over money for Windows! Just to run essential applications!

Where did you pull this fact from (aside from the end of your bowel)? Where do you base such ludicrous claims? I want hard evidence for this. I'll bet you your MacBook (if I win, I plan to dismember it, much like in Office Space) that my PC can run Windows, and anything else, faster than your Mac.
And while you're at it, why don't you throw in some hard evidence for your other boisterous claims: the no viruses, the no crashing, and the less maintenance than Windows. If you used Windows before and it had more viruses, crashing, and required more maintenance, you probably didn't know how to wield it correctly.
Fun fact: Clueless Mac supporters will claim whatever they can to fuel Steve Jobs' stock cheating pocketbook.

Apple is no angel company, and macs are not perfect; not in the least. Macs get viruses and they crash, in fact... my MacBook has crashed once. All computers crash, all computers can get malware, all computer company's have had their hand in dirty business ethics. Mac users tend to be EXTREMELY naive in thinking their product is peachy and perfect. As a mac user, I find that Apple caters to my needs best, the product is solid. For most people, PC is best for them.
