Can someone help me out? Can give karma. Thanks!

You must have a memory card in the PSP in order to see any kind of content. The PSP acts simply like a removable drive, and you must insert a disk (i.e Memory Stick) in order to see the contents on the Memory Stick. PSPs have no kind of internal disk space, and that's why you don't see anything when you plug in the PSP without a Memory Stick.
