The only subsitute someone can use is a headset for the tv audio but you would still have to use a wii speak to talk. Unfortunately Nintendo wanted to be a little bit more creative than Microsoft`s headset, so they made the wii speak. Bad move by Nintendo.

I think the reason for it being like that is because of the whole family crap that nintendo so strongly tries to stick to..No more than one person can use a headset of course, instead they want to see the whole family screaming into that thing like a bunch of re tards.

And probably for parental control crap too. No parent wants their kid secretly talking "unappropriate" stuff with some online stranger pedo =p

wii doesnt need a headset wii speak is awsome , & u dnt have to scream to use it , i knw i have one
& i knw most of you think you have to screeeeam becouse you dnt have one, the wii speak cancels out other noises to only read your voice.& i dnt wanna wear a headset while playing.

I love WiiSpeak and but I hate stuff hugging my face when I'm trying to play a game. I don't really want a headset. They already have wireless headsets that can plug into the audio plug of a AV cord.
