Why not just make a headset? - 02-01-09

I think the wii speak is absolute bs.
First of all no one wants to scream into the wii speak to say what they want when they're tired. Second of all if you parents walk in your friends will be hearing everything they say especially if your tv is in the living room. Also no one wants to hear people cuss and spam random bs on your tv. However, if Nintendo made a wireless wii headset all the questions and problems would be answered or solved. The wii headset can allow people to have their own privacy.

If we already have wireless remotes why can't Nintendo just make a wireless headset?

EDIT: If everyone can send an email to Nintendo, I think there might be a chance.
Just go to :
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform.jsp
and tell them you want a headset for games like the Conduit

Update: June 4th 2009:
I got a reply for the email I sent to nintendo and this was their message
Hello,

Thank you for your email. While we haven't heard of any plans to release a headset for the Wii console, we appreciate your feedback regarding this issue. Please note that I have forwarded your comments on to the appropriate department for further review. If a headset is announced for release sometime in the future, we'll be sure to post the details to our website (www.nintendo.com), so please check back from time to time.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.
Greg Hamilton

** So in short if you guys want to make a difference and want this headset. Go and send an email to nintendo Just go to :

Quite frankly i agree. Why did they have to make it like that?Sure it would be nice for a game like Animal Crossing, but for other games where people are tempted to swear, its just not good, especially for a shooter like the Conduit

Nintendo has always done this. ALWAYS. Make the first version suck, but make it the only one available. Therefore, everyone will be compelled to buy it. Then, release a better version that everyone will purchase as well. Lastly, after the system is dead and rotting, let the underdog third-party companies take a whack at making an actually useful peripheral. Classic marketing strategy.

I agree that they should have just made a headset but it is not as bad as you say it is.

1. You don't have to scream into the mic, it picks up sound pretty good.

2. People can hear what your saying even when you wear a headset, because you will still be talking. So if your parents walk in they will still hear you cussing and screaming. A headset won't prevent that.

3. If you don't want to hear people cuss and spam words on your tv, just unplug the wii speak or turn off voice chat. Animal crossing had this option and im sure conduit will have it.

4. If two people from the same system are playing online both people can talk instead of just one. This way you don't have to waste money buying two headsets.

I do agree that I would rather have a headset but people need to start looking a the positives.

i think nintendo is waiting for the online community to really dig in its heals on voice chat. Its kind of like what they did with the ds. But the ds one didnt really make sense. Ill give if a couple years then complain. i kind of like the wii speak mic because i (imo) dont even think about someone being far away. I talk normal and the mic picks up what i say nicely...the people on the other end are talking normal too....if ur then feet away then move it closer thats why it has that long cord.

Oh and i play fps's on wii standing up. I cant shoot when im sitting. SO now im closer to the mic. and if my parents walk in who cares. Not like ill ever see them. And if ur parents are annoying then take the system somewhere else. Or say that u need to be able to hear the guys on the other end so they need to be quite. Its rude for other people to talk when ur having a conversation

Programming for 3 years is both fun and not close to rewarding, but atleast i can nail a job if i need to.

well i would perfer a wireless headset then the curent wii speak, but the wii speak was originaly designed to be used on games like AC for chatting. Nintendo never expected The Conduit and they didn't know they were going to use the wii speak for online gaming untill it was already too late when they finally announced it. Maybe if The Conduit sells and High Voltage makes lots of money they could design their own wireless headset or maybe Nyko will probly make one:)

Yeah, this is the exact reason that I don't use my WiiSpeak that much.

I'm afraid my parents are going to walk into the room while someone of cursing on it, and then I'm going to get in trouble.
