Right here goes:
Recently I have seen an increase in threads asking how to tell if a pokemon is a hack or not.
First off before trading with anybody you are unsure of/or dont trust them,there's a few things you can do to stop yourself getting ripped of with a fake pokemon(or a hack if you like)
1.Check the Pokemon stats/ask for the Pokemon stats at lvl 100,so you can do an IV check( flawless IV's ALL 31'S are insanely difficult to obtain through breeding, however they are possible, but more than likely a person has used Ar to get max IV's.
2.Check the moves with serebii, if a pokemon your trading for has a move serebii says it cannot learn via egg moves,TM moves/HM moves/level up/or any move tutors.(and it Is not an event (like pikachu) ,then this Pokemon could quite well be a dreaded hack.
3.If in doubt don't trade for the pokemon/ask a friend to check it out for you.
4. If a Pokemon says caught at level 0 (or any level the said Pokemon cannot be found at) then its a HACK
5. If a Pokemon has no ability or has been caught on a route/place this pokemon isnt usually found in then its a HACK.
Or if the pokemon has an Ability it cannot have (I check Serebii.net)
Example: Electivire with Static(electivires only ability is Motor drive)
6. Some Hackers will use a method of hacking a pokemon called Pokesav.
Pokesav, is evil it can change a pokemon to be something else,(the pokemon may look legit untill you check its ID:no)
7.Quite often you see people with every single ribbon on a pokemon(impossible),or their pokemon have max in every single beauty stat but no sheen (HACKS).
8.If a Pokemons Ev spread is Over 510 its hacked, Some hackers will do 999 in ever stat, thats a deffinate hack (but these are the more stupid cheating hackers)
9. This one is for platinum users.
When Using the Battle Recorder, Upload your video to the GTS, if it fails to upload it is because either you or your opponants used hacks..
These are just a few of the ways to identify hacks.
10. A Pokemon has to have an Id number, If you see one without or with just 0's Then Im Afraid its another hack.
Same Goes with If a Pokemon is missing its id number, or knows moves that a pokemon may not learn.
Normal Pokemon cannot be caught in Cherish balls,These balls are not obtainable.
A few event pokemon come caught in them.

If in doubt about a Pokemon legitimacy then don't trade until you have verified if its hacked or not.#
