Not really. In that case, you only want to trade it for a few seconds. My advice is to only do this with people you trust anyway, so there's absolutely no chance of your guy getting stolen. Even better, make sure the other guy is trading something to evolve too, that way, you know that he'll want his back too.

wait, on the topic of 'borrowing.'

this means "let me borrow your (elaborate on strong pokemon here) so i can beat a friend" isnt allowed, right?

what if it was a thread saying "let me borrow your (elaborate on missing pokemon) so i can finish my pokedex"?

i just ask because i know some people dont have friends with the game, and need exclusives, or pokemon from other games.

I think it's best to say no borrowing period. There is just too great a chance that your Pokemon will be stolen. =/

Re: Regarding threads asking to borrow rare or high level Pokemon - 05-16-07

Yeah, the word "borrow" is only asking for trouble, so please no one request to borrow anyone's Pokemon.

I would recommend, also, that no one lend any of your Pokemon to others asking to use them. The ONLY situation where it would be okay to do that is if it's with your friend who you trust.

Mind you, we're not going to stop people from lending out their Pokemon, but it's at their own discretion. They're taking a risk when they're lending out Pokemon, and we're just simply warning you guys.

Threads asking to borrow Pokemon will, however, be locked or deleted.. especially those asking to borrow rare or high level Pokemon.

Yeah I wouldn't mind lending my Pokemon to someone who I trust, but not someone who just asks.
Like SnowDog, I asked him to let me see a Pokemon to finish my Sinnoh Dex, but he wanted it back.
So he traded it to me, then I gave it back.
So I would say only do this to people who you trust.

My brain just hatched an idea! Would it be illegal for me to create a Pokémon lending thread? They could borrow it for a day and pay in items or something. I just came up with this when I saw the title for this, it's prob a terrible idea XD

Well, I don't think it's illegal to do that but...Why would you lend pokemon to strangers?
