To start off, this isn't a review or anything, I just recently bought these two games and this is my opinion of them and why their good and what their flaws are and how they could be better (which is what a review really is...haha).
Now I am a huge Bleach/Naruto fan, I love the anime and manga, so therefore I have a lot of hope for these games!
Bleach: The Blade of Fate is a good fighter and one of the best out their for the
DS as far as side to side fighters go. The graphics are good, as well as the sound, and it has a lot of replay value. It has an enormous amount of unlockables, which in itself may actually be a flaw, I just found that throwing in hundreds of things you can unlock doesn't make the game worth playing over and over. The multiplayer is great and it is online which is an awesome feature, but I found that the combo system was a little too hard. I felt that it could have been more simplified. I like the idea of putting shortcuts for the special moves on the touch screen, just press the Special A or Special B button to perform that special move. I would recommend this game and it is the best side to side fighter on the Nintendo
DS to date.
Naruto Ninja Destiny is the first completely 3D fighter on the Nintendo
DS. I had a lot of hope for this game because it resembled the Clash of Ninja series so well on the Nintendo Gamecube/
Wii systems. The graphics are awesome, the combos are very simplified as well as the special moves you can perform. You start out with 7 playable characters and can unlock 9 more for a total of 16 characters. There are 8 stages in the game which are all available from the start. There is a story mode which covers episodes 40-120 (estimated), the multiplater mode which is called battle mode allows you to play against the computer or another player, the battle mode also has a single player option which is just an arcade mode for short. The arcade mode consists of 10 battles, same as the story mode. Now it's time for the flaws of this game: The multiplayer mode doesn't have an online option, which is a huge disappointment. There is no training mode/practice mode, there also isn' a combo/moves list, so you have to figure out the moves by yourself which really sucks. The multiplayer option to play with another player is only available for multicard play, meaning each play has to have the game. Their is no multiplayer single card play option, which also sucks. The touch screen allows you to use power-ups which is really helpful, I must say. One of the biggest flaws besides the lack of online/multiplayer options is the lack of replay value. Once you unlock all the characters which won't take that long there really isn't anything else to do. This game is a perfect example of lack of unlockables (features/characters/stages/etc.) to keep you interested and intrigued. I would recommend this game to the hardcore naruto/fighter fans. I like this game as it is a great fighting game and the only 3D fighter on the Nintendo
DS, but there is just not enough replay value, so you would probably get bored of it after a week. I would say to wait until the next installment of the Ninja Destiny series comes out and hopefully it will have a online option. It is a good game for the first in the series though and I do like it, the graphics are pretty amazing!
