Nintendo Rep. Confirms Game-Specific Friend Codes for Wii

I can confirm that the Friend Code system in the Wi-Fi Connection (WFC) service for Wii will be the same as it was for the Nintendo DS, meaning game-specific Friend Codes and a separate Friend Roster are used in each game where players can play with identified friends. As with Nintendo DS, the system was created to ensure the gaming environment is kept fun for everyone.

We have heard from various others like you letting us know how they felt regarding Nintendo’s implementation of Friend Codes in the Wi-Fi Connection service for Wii. Thats cool. Nice find. I wish they would all have the same code. That would be a lot easier. This is good enough though.

Thats actually what I thought the Wii ID was. Bah I hate FCs for individual games. I only memorize like 1 and then have to look up all the others. I havent memorized my wii number yet!!

so all that wii numbers are for is messaging and for games that use the wii connect24 feature... great

I know, it sucks. It will be A LOT harder now finding all the peoples friend codes......why Nintendo. WHY!!!

It probably wasn't their choice its probably hard to make it work like this.
Plus if you can only have say 100 people on your wii's friend list but some people has no wi-fi games. You'll run out of space fast and you'll be able to store more players if you save played in the game and you know they have it.

lol its not all that bad, you can just write your code on a paper and read it from there lol
