Ok am I being stupid or is the bad wifi on the game?

Shaber128 and I have been trying to set up a bttle for awhile now...we can see each other on the connected friends list....and we both hit the 'A' button to lock each other.....is there something else we should be doing to get the game going? The instructions are useless......

If u lock, that means when u search, u will NOT find that opponent >_>

And yes, the WiFi does suck. I can only get a good fight with my friends that live in the same state as me >_>
