Its proface off best of 5 (preferably expert because you won't last long against people on expert if your only on like medium.)
the numbers to the side of your name is wins/losses

k perfect records always stay on top of everyone else but 1/0 is not perfect lol
the it goes by most wins, if you are tied with someone in wins the person with less losses is ontop.

you can play other people on the list but even if you get a bunch of wins you will still lose against #1.

The way to obtain first place is to do these things
1.achieve more wins than first
2.challenge the person in first
3.well if you win your first :) if you lose i guess your second.

only reason for this is becuase if you get like 20 wins playing the people below you, it doesnt really count since they arent at your level.

dammm man im rusty as hell, i usually get a 98-99 (just miss the solo) in stricken and 100% in lay down :p
but this is no excuse even if i was in my best shape you would of still beaten me.
