Many people have been calling this game a "substitute" for Brawl... But I have to say that in my opinion, Mario Kart Wii will be a better, more addictive game than Brawl, because people always seem to form addictions to kart racing games such as the Mario kart series, and the Crash Bandicoot racing games on the Playstation.
Mario Kart Wii features cutting edge, up to date graphics, which are better than any of the previous Mario Kart games. It also features more characters than ever before, with a variety of new kartsand motorbikes, yet it still includes some of the more popular ones from before.
It also features an awesome, 12 player online modes, and for the first time, battle modes are available to play online as well.
The "Wii Wheel" also comes boxed with every copy of Mario Kart Wii, which can be used as an alternative control method. The Wii remote cleverly clips in to the Wii Wheel, so the wheel could possibly be used for other games, as well as Mario Kart Wii.
I think that this will make the game a lot more fun, however it would be a shame if Nintendo decided to not sell the "Wii Wheel" separately, otherwise if you want to play against a group of friends, then only one of you would be able to use it. However, I'm sure they will.
Why does most people say that MK Wii is just a substitute for Brawl?
First of all MK Wii is as good if not better then Brawl.
Yes, Brawl will be an awesome instant classic, but MK Wii has that too.
I'm just a bigger fan of Brawl than Mario Kart. I got Melee with my GCN and still play it. Double Dash (a very amusing game too) I played for a while, but it didn't come close to the game time in Melee.
My thoughts was more intended in general then for 1 person only.
Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are equally excellent, but both games don't surpass each other.
